What the Community Says About Us
I purchased a SitnStand Compact last week and tried it out at a restaurant yesterday. I am pleased to report it was better than I expected. It has 3 air bladders that inflate for 3 levels of height. It is compact, although a bit heavy at 7 lbs/3.18 kgs due to the air compressor. However, the air compressor is efficient yet quiet. It is very comfortable to sit on.
Pretty excited. I am trying the new SitnStand compact. Getting up and out of an airplane seat can be very tricky...fortunately the everywhere lift chair can even work on the airplane! Lifts you 8 inches off of your seat and is completely battery operated. The air up here is a little better. Btw....you should unhook your seatbelt before rising. Let my lesson be yours.

The SitnStand is a portable, battery-operated inflatable cushion that uses proprietary Vertical Lift Technology (VLT™) to help individuals rise from seated positions safely and independently. The device provides gentle, controlled lifting motion in 2-inch increments up to 8 inches total, allowing users to find the perfect amount of assistance for their needs. Unlike other lift systems, it lifts vertically without propelling you forward, making it particularly safe for those with muscle weakness or balance concerns.

The SitnStand requires no assembly and is incredibly user-friendly: simply place on any chair or seat, use the intuitive remote control to inflate/deflate, choose from 1 to 4 levels of inflation depending on your model. The device inflates and deflates smoothly, with compact storage when not in use.
All SitnStand models are highly portable, with users regularly taking their devices to restaurants and cafes, friends' and family's homes, churches and community centers, airplanes (TSA-compatible), outdoor events and activities, office settings, and hotels while traveling. The battery-operated design means no need for power outlets, and the flat profile when deflated makes it easy to transport.
Unlike traditional lift chairs or mechanical aids, the SitnStand offers true portability, works with existing furniture without needing special chairs, battery operation with no power cords required, vertical lifting motion that's safer than forward-propelling systems, discreet use that doesn't look like medical equipment, multi-surface compatibility that works on most seating, gradual controlled lifting where the user maintains control, and compact storage that takes minimal space when not in use.

The SitnStand significantly reduces caregiver burden by eliminating the need for manual lifting assistance during sit-to-stand transfers, reducing the risk of injury to both caregiver and care recipient, allowing caregivers to focus on other aspects of care rather than physical transfers, and providing peace of mind knowing their loved one can maintain independence safely. One customer noted: "I was having difficulties trying to get my husband who is 6'1" 250 lbs up from his wheelchair without hurting myself or him... OMG finally I found a device that works!"
Yes, the system is designed for easy battery management. One user reported: "Although he cannot reach the battery to change it himself, with the extra battery that was sent, his twice-a-week caregiver can swap batteries between his SitnStand and the charger before a battery completely runs down."
The device eliminates risky manual lifting situations that can cause injury to both parties, provides stable, controlled assistance that reduces fall risk, allows caregivers to supervise rather than physically assist, and reduces emergency situations that require multiple people or professional help.
Caregivers report dramatic improvements: "It's amazing i have no more problems getting him up and out of the wheelchair. I recently bought the classic chair lift. Now he can sit with us at the dinner table instead of sitting in his wheelchair." The device transforms challenging transfer situations into manageable, independent activities.
For IBM patients, SitnStand addresses the core challenge of quadriceps muscle weakness that makes standing extremely difficult. The device's Vertical Lift Technology provides the exact type of assistance needed - lifting vertically without requiring the weakened leg muscles to push forward. This allows IBM patients to maintain their independence, continue social activities, and avoid the anxiety of getting "stuck" in chairs. The progressive nature of IBM makes the adjustable lift heights particularly valuable, as users can modify assistance levels as their condition changes.
The SitnStand is ideal for individuals with: Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) and other neuromuscular conditions, arthritis and joint stiffness, lower limb weakness or reduced strength, balance issues or control difficulties when sitting/standing, recovery from surgery, illness, or injury, age-related mobility challenges, fluctuating abilities throughout the day, and anyone who struggles with chair transfers and wants to maintain independence.
Yes, the SitnStand serves as an excellent rehabilitation device, particularly valuable for progressive conditions like IBM where assistance needs may change over time, post-surgery recovery when gradually building strength, physical therapy support for sit-to-stand exercises, maintaining mobility while managing chronic conditions, and reducing caregiver strain during recovery periods. The adjustable lift heights allow users to modify assistance levels as their strength and mobility improve or change.
Users consistently describe the SitnStand as "life-changing" and "transformative." The device has enabled people to return to social activities they had previously avoided, reduce anxiety and stress about seating situations, maintain spontaneity in daily activities, eliminate the need for assistance from others, combat social isolation and depression, feel more confident in public settings, and "get their life back" and regain control over their mobility.
The SitnStand for Wheelchairs is ideal for wheelchair users who can walk short distances but use a wheelchair due to lower limb weakness, reduced balance, or reduced endurance, have difficulty standing due to reduced strength, neuromuscular conditions, back or leg pain, fatigue, or other limiting issues, have reduced balance or control when sitting down, experience fluctuating abilities throughout the day, can stand independently but need assistance initiating the stand, and are reconditioning after illness, surgery, or injury.
